Self-Enquiry 9
“Light”
Self-enquiry is honest enquiry of not only who you are, but also what you are.
Self-enquiry is also an honest enquiry into what objects, vegetation and animals are.
An honest self-enquiry is whether the egg came first or the chicken came first. This enquiry is difficult to answer by those with knowledge. It is, however, explained by those with wisdom, due to self-enquiry. So what is the explanation by the wise, is the question? It is paradoxical that, when the meaning conveyed by knowledge is deeply understood by humans, the wisdom of self-enquiry is revealed.
The explanation of the wise is given in article Self-enquiry 2. A further conundrum to the egg and chicken problem is, did the egg yolk and the egg white come first or did the shell of the egg come first? The explanation of the wise is given in article Self-enquiry 3.
Similarly, the question did the seed come first or did the plant come first is asked. The explanation of the wise is given in article Self-enquiry 4.
A further conundrum to the question in 4 is whether a coconut shell came first or the coconut and coconut water came first. The explanation of the wise is given in article Self-enquiry 5.
Similar to question 5, the question is whether an animal seed came first or did the animal come first? The explanation of the wise is given in article Self-enquiry 6.
Similarly, the question did the animal skin come first or the animal below the skin come first is to be enquired. The explanation of the wise is given in article Self-enquiry 7. Similarly, the question whether a human seed came first or the human came first is to be enquired. The explanation of the wise is given in article Self-enquiry 8.
Further self-enquiry to the question in enquiry 7 is whether the skin of the human came first or the human beneath the skin came first.
Scientific knowledge of elements reveals the wisdom of elements when the deep meaning of elements is understood by humans. Wisdom of the scientific knowledge of elements reveals that every atom of an element is light.
This wisdom signifies that light appeared as illusory elements first. Also that light appeared as different elements as well. It is impossible to determine the first element that appeared on earth. This further implies that illusory elements appear as an illusory seed. This signifies that particular elements appeared as a seed for humans and seeds for different humans as well.
Since every atom of the skin and every atom of human skin is light, it signifies that the light appeared as the human skin first and the light below the skin appeared as the human as an illusion of light as well.
This signifies that the human skin came first and the first human skin expressed below it the first human. The elements within the first human appeared as a human seed and the cycle was set in motion by the intelligence in life.
This signifies that the human skin is a compressed human and the human expresses skin over the human, similar to an animal skin is a compressed animal and the animal expresses skin over it.
This wisdom applies to any human skin that is on any human on earth.
The enlightened, due to self-enquiry, have rightly proclaimed that life is beginningless and endless. This signifies that any human skin, including the human below the skin, albeit illusory, has neither a beginning nor an end.
The enlightened understand the wisdom of the further skin and human enquiry and, therefore, admire the intelligence of light and its many expressions of humans in any moment. They do not expect them to be other than what they are in any moment and also accept them as they are in any moment.

Editor’s Note:
Man’s mind has been conditioned by the knowledge and experience acquired in a lifetime, albeit illusory, through the intelligence of life. This is gradually but surely transformed by the wisdom of enlightened beings that is so generously and compassionately gifted here. In this series of articles the deep understanding of the wise reflects the truth for all who are on their journey in life. This journey cannot be managed by man’s efforts. It is as it is meant to be for each living being in every moment and it is always so.

German Translator’s Note:
Wisdom evolves from a thorough self-enquiry of all everyday aspects of life, even if they appear very unimportant at first sight. The human body is covered by about two square meters of skin that protects it and makes its shape visible. The outward visible cover of man makes him recognizable as a human being, albeit illusory. This important aspect of the illusion of being human is worth a wise enquiry, as Dr. Shankar shows in this article.
