“Reflected light is consciousness”
In the DVD; Can we see light? Why not? If you misunderstand life you will find a meaning, when you understand life you will not find a meaning. Objects are not separate from you. The thought of practice silence is not enough. When your attention is outside and believe that it is separate from life, that is the bondage.

Letter to AAU: X: What about the ancient concept of the rising of the kundalini?
Letter to AAU: Y: When an experience becomes actual it is not a thought nor a feeling. It is like love, it is from the beyond and from within, it is light.

“Beyond the known is the unknowable”
“Unknowable, cannot be known”
|
Comment: CD ‘Beyond the known’ Elisabeth, Netherlands Dr. Shankar over and over emphasizes how important it is to know yourself. We do not know ourselves, we only know our known. Only when you know yourself, you will begin to see the whole play. Life can never be confronted with the known, life can never be known through the known. First and paramount thing is to know yourself as to who you are, where is your center, and what is your identity. Through the known we can only know matter. So, if a man is totally conscious of matter as reality in its dialecticism, in its appearance as duality, he confronts the duality and he does not separate them, he accepts them both as one, he has got it. The moment you become the center, then you know the entire picture. But we do not accept duality as one, it is separate. It challenged me to listen over and over again and to listen very carefully and understand. Thank You, Dr. Shankar.
Comment: CD ‘Unknowable’ Elisabeth, Netherlands How do we witness the unknown? If we begin to see life directly, without any assistance of the known at all, our attention is focused on the now, life as it is flowing. The moment you become the flow, you become the unknowable, simultaneously the known and the knower will dissolve, it won’t be there. The moment the known and the knower dissolve, the unknown vanishes, because the unknown stands because of the known. The reverse takes place. You become the unknown. The trap of the known, one has to know what happens if you get caught in the known. The known generates one conceptual thought. What is it? The known primarily gives birth to that ‘I am the doer’. Dr. Shankar beautifully describes the relation of the known to a bhajan. You witness, you have heard the sound of life, you heard just the sounds. The mystery always remains unknowable. Deeply enjoyed the satsang.
