Man is convinced that everything in life, including an action, has a cause and an effect. Physics too strengthens man’s conviction of cause and effect in action by the third natural law of motion, which states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Karma is the spiritual equivalent of the third natural law of motion regarding action. Basically, karma implies that when we exhibit a positive or negative energy in thought, word or action, that positive or negative energy will come back to us. This is the basis of cause and effect in karma regarding action. This indicates that the fundamental feature regarding action in both karma and physics is motion. Now motion is a fundamental feature in nature which makes motion a natural law. To read further click here.
Comment: Article ‘Cause and Effect’
Marcus Stegmaier, Germany
Ever since evolution has manifested science in the mind of man, the search for a complete explanation of the universe is blossoming. However, deep pondering reveals that a theory of everything is not possible. The theory of everything would have to include the cause of any cause. That is not possible because every cause, according to logic and reason, needs another cause and so ad infinitum. The last cause therefore is without a cause which makes the concept of cause and effect illusory and not real. What Dr. Shankar offers in the article “Cause and effect’, as the enlightened ever have, is a deep insight in the illusion of science, metaphysics and life itself. To read further click here. Comment: Article ‘What is the future’
Marcus Stegmaier, Germany
A dream is but a dream and not a reality. Future is what we all dream of, especially when we don’t like the present or are bored by it. The future, however, never comes, because the future we all dream of is nothing but fiction. What the real present is and how it includes the future, Dr. Shankar reveals in this article with clarity and depth. Life is a continuous, timeless flow and the future is, as the present, an imagination in man’s mind. To live the imagined present as an illusion instead of dreaming of a supposedly real future is enlightenment. A deep understanding of future and present, as shared by Dr. Shankar, opens the door. Comment: Article ‘What we do know’
Marcus Stegmaier, Germany
To learn something by heart is equivalent to make it part of our knowledge. From the first poem we have to learn by heart at school in an early age we believe in our capacity to know and to gather knowledge by will an choice. However, if a poem is learned, when would we know the exact moment when the learning is over and the poem is now in our head so to speak? We would never know, because only to remember it would be prove of a successful learning. Life is spontaneous and makes us appear as a thinker, gathering knowledge. Life doesn’t know anything and yet makes us believe we could know, in the human mind. What a deep insight the enlightened presents to us in this wonderful article! To read further click here. Comment: Article ‘Freedom’
Marcus Stegmaier, Germany
There are not many who doubt the theory of evolution by Charles Darwin. However, the conclusion that even the longing for freedom has to be part of evolution and is not in man’s hands, is not pondered very often. If we ponder the obvious fact that everything in life has evolved spontaneously, long before man appeared on the face of the earth, we come closer to the wisdom of the sages, that freedom is not possible in form of free will. Freedom is presented here by a living sage, Dr. Shankar. It is so different from the freedom the mind longs for. The one who understands is free from the longing for freedom, in any situation. Comment: Article ‘Intellect’
Marcus Stegmaier, Germany
Intelligence is taken for an asset of man’s individuality. Parents are proud of the achievements of their children’s intellect, even more than they are proud of their physical strength and capability. If someone lacks intellectual ability, he is advised to make more effort. If he is still unable to manage the task, he is taken to be mentally disabled. This is commonly regarded with disrespect as if it is his or his parents fault. That intelligence is not in man’s hands but life’s attribute is wisdom. And wisdom does not condemn or disrespect the mental power of anybody, because wisdom understands that every intellect is part of the intelligence of life and not made by children or parents. In this article Dr. Shankar offers the key for the understanding of a mystery mostly misunderstood in our lives. To read further click here. To read in Germanclick here.
Comment: Article ‘Responsibility’
Marcus Stegmaier, Germany
Whatever we do, we are kept responsible for it. This can be quite a challenge from time to time. We want to improve our moral capacity and try hard to be a better human being next time. Sometimes this endeavor ends up with success, sometimes not. This drama in our minds will not change, even with the understanding presented here by a wise man that life is the only responsible in life, and not man. But it is recognized as a drama in the mind and no longer taken for a reality in life. Furthermore, it is also life’s responsibility to make us responsible in an illusory manner, in order to maintain the illusion of humans as a doer, speaker and thinker. Admiration of life’s intelligence to provide a perfect illusion of responsibility is what remains, after an understanding has happened. To read further click here. To read in Germanclick here.

Letters to AOA.
By Marcus Stegmaier, Munich
Especially the first paragraph of the response to Linkedin by Gerard is true and remarkable! “I have questioned Dr. Shankar many times over 12 years and he is always willing to explain. His explanations of every question have always been irrefutable. He also questions the answers that have evolved in man or woman, and has explained that they can be refuted.” It makes clear what the academy is and how it addresses questions. And it reminds me that I also questioned every belief and did not just accept what Dr. Shankar has to share. My friend Marius once also said, he couldn't find a sentence in the books, which is refutable. Thank you once again for all the irrefutable answers you give!

Thanks to all the people on LinkedIn and your unwavering responses to them gentle and steadily hammering in that life happens and later the mind, so to do something in life happens always after life happens, not understanding this holds rigid the belief that man can do! Enjoyed all Linkedins so much
By Sigrid, Munich
Thank you for these sharp statements about MIND, FREEDOM, WORRIES & PROBLEMS and LIVING in the October newsletter. They are so dear to me that I would take them to a lonely island instead of books - this would be sufficient! For me your words are like ambrosia, the essence of wisdom.... With best wishes and love
In the chapter Illusion of Duality in the book ´the Illusions of Life´ you let us try to understand the mechanism of what makes the ego complain about wrong. The egos who convert right to wrong depending on their selfishness are merely opportunists in life, their behavior is a sophistication of the instinct of parasites operating within their psyche. The analogy with the words ´instinct of parasites´ is striking to me and helpful in the understanding that it is our selfishness complaining about wrong. I am studying the book ´the Illusions of Life´ with patience and honesty and am so grateful for the Self Enquiry. Thank You.
